Tomorrow, the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee will consider S. 625, a bill to transfer regulatory authority over tobacco products and advertising to the Food and Drug Administration. ANA, along with the American Association of Advertising Agencies and the American Advertising Federation, has sent a letter to the committee detailing the constitutional problems with the advertising provisions in the bill. Our letter also references testimony that we filed in February with the committee when it held a preliminary hearing on the bill.
If you have any questions, you can contact Dan Jaffe in ANA's Washington office at 202-296-2359 or at djaffe@ana.net.
