Eric Baum currently serves as senior vice president, business and legal affairs for Sony Pictures worldwide marketing and distribution, and assistant general counsel, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc. He has responsibility for global marketing and distribution business and legal matters including advertising, publicity, merchandising and licensing, media, promotions and product placement for theatrical motion picture releases by Columbia Pictures, Screen Gems and TriStar Pictures. Mr. Baum has overseen global marketing campaigns for motion pictures including the Spider-Man films, the James Bond films, Hotel Transylvania and Smurfs, and is currently working on Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Emoji Movie, The Dark Tower, Blade Runner 2049 and Jumanji, among others. He joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1994 as senior counsel in TriStar Pictures’ legal affairs group. Eric was named assistant general counsel for Sony Pictures Entertainment and vice president of business and legal affairs for the Columbia TriStar Marketing Group in 1999. Prior to that time, Eric was an associate at the Law Offices of Sam Perlmutter representing, among others, MGM, Cannon Pictures, Pathé Entertainment, TransWorld Entertainment, Epic Productions and 21st Century Film Corporation as well as individual producers, directors, writers, actors and musicians.
