Nur al-Haq advises on legal and regulatory compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Children’s Television Act (CTA), and other laws and regulations relating to children. Prior to joining Viacom, Mr. ul-Haq was Privacy Counsel, Americas at NBCUniversal, focusing on privacy and data security issues in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America relating to all divisions of the business, including film, entertainment, cable, digital, theme parks, movie ticketing, and internal business operations. He also served as a staff attorney in the FTC’s northeast regional office, where he led and participated in investigations and litigations relating to deceptive marketing and advertising practices, anticompetitive practices, and violations of various FTC rules. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and Boston University School of Law, cum laude.
