John Kennedy is Conduent’s chief of staff, with leadership responsibility for the office of the CEO, sales excellence, marketing and communications functions. Prior to Conduent, Mr. Kennedy was chief marketing and communications officer and corporate vice president at Xerox, where he managed the full scope of the company’s marketing and communications activities globally. As Xerox separated into two companies in 2016, John and his team played key roles supporting strategic communications, development of new company positioning and brand transition activities worldwide. Prior to joining Xerox, Mr. Kennedy spent 18 years at IBM, including as global marketing leader for IBM Global Business Services, a $17 billion consulting and professional services organization. As vice president, corporate marketing, he led the rollout and deployment of IBM’s successful “Smarter Planet” initiative. John’s IBM career also included eight years in Tokyo in senior sales and marketing positions supporting the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Kennedy began his marketing career at Procter & Gamble, and prior to that was a securities and trading analyst with NationsBank (now Bank of America). John received his Master of Business Administration from Harvard University and his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
