As president of GSD&M, Marianne Malina brings an entrepreneurial spirit to the agency, driving the agency’s core purpose: to create ideas that make a difference. A relentless culture-builder and people-inspirer, she pushes GSD&M’s talent to think bigger, be courageous and creatively tackle the major challenges facing today’s brands. In her 17 years at GSD&M, Ms. Malina has touched every department while driving big ideas for brands like Southwest Airlines, the U.S. Air Force, Walgreens, Popeyes and Dodge, among others. She’s a talent-maximizer who’s uniquely skilled at identifying and making good talent great. Marianne was critical in the execution of the agency’s unorthodox approach to talent sourcing, honing in on the reality that great ideas come from engaged, passionate employees, not staffing plans. Her creativity is constant, boundless and inspiring, but it’s the ability to uplift her team that makes her crucial to GSD&M. In her free time, Marianne takes her maverick spirit to the kitchen, creating goodness and exploring life outside with her husband, Joe, son, Milo, and dog, Penguin. Yes, Penguin is black and white.
