Doug joined General Mills in 2001 after 15 years at New York agencies. His role now spans four main accountabilities: (a) day-to-day inspiration and influence with marketing and agency teams to generate more effective brand-building; (b) leading portfolio centers including Relationship Marketing, iMarketing, media, owned networks, food content and PR; (c) envisioning and driving macro strategic and capability changes needed to market the company's brands and portfolio effectively amidst rapid change, (d) agency strategy, roster and relationships.
Doug's prior agency life included leadership roles at BBDO and Saatchi & Saatchi on great brands such as DuPont, HBO, Pepsi-Cola, Pizza Hut, Tide, Tylenol and UBS/PaineWebber.
Advertising Age named Doug a Media Maven in 2007. He is a member of the Mobile Marketing Association Marketing Executive Marketing Advisory Board, and helps Wilderness Inquiry further its mission as a board member of the non-profit.
