Matt Murphy began his career with Russell Corporation in the newly created division of Jerzees Mass Retail. He spent eight years with Jerzees as the account manager for their Wal-Mart business, responsible for sales and account planning. Mr. Murphy then spent three years with Russell Athletic marketing. He was responsible for managing all Russell Athletic sports marketing relationships and was also responsible for team and licensed products specific to marketing. Matt joined the college stores division as the national sales and marketing director and then assumed the role of general manager. He continued to expand his role with Russell Athletic’s team sports division as senior vice president of sales. In 2011, Mr. Murphy accepted the position of vice president, Russell Athletic retail and then added the responsibility and management of the newly launched Russell brand at Wal-Mart in marketing and business development. Upon completing his 22nd year with the company, Matt assumed the position of vice president of marketing for Russell Athletic, a division of Fruit of the Loom based in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
