NETWORKING BREAKFAST (9:00-9:45AM)
INTRODUCTIONS (9:45-10:00AM)

I. OPTIMIZE DIGITAL AD SPEND BY REDUCING FRAUD – NEWLY RELEASED INDUSTRY STUDY
(10:00-11:00AM)
For the second year in a row, ANA partnered with White Ops to measure bot fraud (i.e., non-human traffic). Forty-nine ANA members deployed White Ops detection tags on their digital advertising; all participants received proprietary information specific to their buys while the aggregate data was reported to the industry. Results show that fraud is especially high in programmatic advertising and sourced traffic. The report encourages advertisers to take an active role in the fight against fraud and offers a number of proactive ideas to help.

Speaker:
Michael Tiffany, Chief Executive Officer – White Ops

II. MEDIA TRANSPARENCY UPDATE (11:15-11:45AM)
An ANA survey found that nearly half of respondents were concerned about the transparency of media buys – undisclosed rebates and programmatic buying were among the issues noted for transparency concerns. Following a discussion at the June 2014 meeting of the ANA Media Leadership Committee, it was agreed to assemble a task force to dive deeper into media transparency issues. In this session, we will discuss:

  • ANA Media Transparency Fact-Finding Effort: In October 2015, the ANA (Association of National Advertisers) selected K2 Intelligence, an industry-leading assessment, compliance, and cyber-defense services firm, and Ebiquity/FirmDecisions, a top marketing-performance optimization company, to lead discovery and fact-finding efforts into media transparency issues, including rebates. Among other key priorities is demystifying the landscape, which is critical to developing longer-term transparent business practices. This session will provide an update on this effort.
  • ANA / 4As Media Transparency Task Force: The ANA is also working with the 4As on a joint Transparency Principles of Conduct and we will share an update on those efforts.
