I. WALL STREET PERSPECTIVE ON STATE OF THE MEDIA INDUSTRY & REBATES/INCENTIVES  (9:45 – 11:00AM)
Brian Wieser is an en equity research analyst, currently covering IPG, Omnicom, WPP, Facebook, Google, and Yahoo and also focuses on other ad supported media companies across various sub-sectors. Brian will share his perspective on the state of the media industry overall as well as thoughts on media rebates/incentives, following up on the recent ANA white paper, "Media Rebates/Incentives Require Full Transparency" (www.ana.net/rebates).

II. MEMBER ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION (11:15AM-12:00PM)

  • 2013-2014 Upfront: In this session, we will ask ANA Media Leadership Committee members if there is interest in exploring ways to balance pre-upfront press coverage and garner our own advertiser points of view regarding the marketplace.
  • Commercial Ratings Summit: On 11/1, ANA will convene an industry meeting to discuss the opportunities and challenges of brand-specific commercial ratings as well as solutions that could facilitate their availability. Attendance will be by invitation only and include ANA members, agencies, media companies, and select industry suppliers. In this committee meeting session we will discuss background on this meeting and solicit member input.

III. UPDATE: AUDIT BUREAU OF CIRCULATION
(12:00-12:30PM)
2014 will be the Audit Bureau of Circulation's 100th year serving the advertising community. ABC is the only forum where advertisers, agencies and publishers vet out actionable standards and criteria that are audited and monetized. Jeff Holecko, North American Media Manager – Kimberly-Clark Corporation will provide an update on the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) and share the latest information on tablet measurement industry initiatives.

IV. TURBOTAX DRIVES CROSS MEDIA COLLABORATIONS (1:15-2:15PM)
In 2012, TurboTax partnered with A+E Networks to create an integrated opportunity that provided high-reach engagement around tax season. Using HISTORY's program, Pawn Stars, TurboTax leveraged A+E Networks' offline and online assets to create a unique cross-media partnership designed to reward fans and attract consumers. This case study will bring to life not just the entertaining elements of this media and marketing program but will feature real marketplace results -- positive changes in both brand perceptions and purchase behaviors.
