    I.  WALL STREET VIEW: ECONOMIC OUTLOOK FOR NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES (9:45-10:45)

    Karl Choi, the Senior Analyst for Merrill Lynch will provide his point of view on the economic outlook for the magazine and newspaper industry and the impact and implications for advertisers.  He will also share his thoughts on the impact of digital extensions on the core businesses for magazines and newspapers.

    II.  THE VALUE OF PUBLIC PLACE DISTRIBUTION COPIES (11-12)

    Rebecca McPheters will share the results of their recent AudienceLabTM Study of Public Place Distribution that explored traffic patterns, incidence of reading, and patient/client demographics in barber shops, beauty salons, doctors' offices, dentists' offices and gyms and fitness facilities.  The study also explored attitudes towards the magazines received and their suitability. They will also talk about  plans to field a large-scale study of readership of smaller magazines which have not previously had access to syndicated research.  The new study will be fielded among a sample of more than 100,000 and will include both adult and teen (12-17) respondents.

    III.  UPDATE FROM THE AUDIT BUREAU OF CIRCULATION (1:00 - 2:00)

    Michael Lavery will bring the committee up to date on ABC's recent initiatives, such as the new Newspaper Qualification and Reporting Standards, Multimedia Publishers Statements and Audience-FAX. He'll also discuss new initiatives in development at ABC.
