I. STATE OF THE YELLOW PAGES INDUSTRY
This will be a broad open discussion regarding key issues and the general state of the Yellow Pages industry. Topics covered will include:
- Publisher performance, including growth rates, stock price, and leadership
- Trends for references
- New product introductions
- Usage of IYP and search
- Environmental issues
- Syndicated research
Facilitators: Janice Lucente, Marketing Manager - The Allstate Corporation and Chair, ANA Telephone Directory Committee; AAAA Search Engine Marketing Committee to provide perspective on Yellow Pages IYP and search
II. ANA OPEN LETTER TO THE YELLOW PAGES INDUSTRY
On April 1, the ANA Telephone Directory Committee released an open letter to the Yellow Pages industry on the issues of:
- Syndicated audience measurement research
- Circulation auditing
- Directory extensions
- Forced-bundling of companion books
We have extended an invitation to representatives of ADM, ADP, and YPA as well as publishers to join the meeting to discuss these issues.
III. OTHER BUSINESS
- 1. YPA Directory Industry Research: AAAA members recently discussed the fact that some of the directory industry research that the YPA conducts might soon be changing (e.g., to more online); Larry Small, research director of YPA, has been invited in to provide an update. (about 3:30pm)
- 2. YPA Request for Advertiser Testimonials: YPA has asked for advertiser testimonials about the importance of Yellow Pages. ANA committee members have pushed back on this, given the issues outlined in our open letter. Kacy Hayner, communications manager of YPA, will join the meeting to discuss this request. (about 3pm)
