ANA Files Comments on New ICANN GAC Proposal

On September 12th, ANA filed comments in opposition to the recent proposal from the ICANN Board to dramatically increase the amount of influence the Government Advisory Committee (GAC) has within ICANN. This proposal would amend the bylaws so that ICANN’s Board would be forced to adopt all GAC advice unless two-thirds of the non-conflicted board members vote to oppose the advice. This overbroad step would significantly impact the multistakeholder model ICANN claims to be using.

You can read more about this proposal on Dan Jaffe’s Regulatory Rumblings blog.
