The ANA Alliance for Family Entertainment sm is a group of nearly 40 major national advertisers, supported by the Association of National Advertisers representing approximately 30% of all U.S. television advertising dollars, has dedicated itself to finding, nurturing, developing and supporting high quality content the entire family can enjoy on multiple distribution platforms.
- The Alliance has increased awareness of the importance of family friendly programming with the broadcast networks. In 2007 there was a prime time program on at least one of the networks, seven nights a week, a key milestone for the group.
- To date, the Alliance and its network partners brought 20 family primetime programs to air including The Gilmore Girls, Everybody Hates Chris and Friday Night Lights.
- For the past nine years, the Alliance has produced the Family Television Awards, an annual recognition of the best in family prime time programming. The group's tenth show, entitled Countdown '08, The Family Entertainment Awards, aired December 12th on The CW.
- The Alliance has hosted four symposiums that bring together marketers and leaders of the entertainment community, fostering in-depth discussions on the key issues facing families today. A fifth symposium is planned for June 9, 2009 in Beverly Hills.
- The group has funded 52 scholarships to ensure that students continue their commitment to develop quality family entertainment after finishing their college educations.
With a robust agenda planned, the Alliance will continue to be a powerful force in the dynamic media industry and deliver strong ROI for members.
