Barbara Ford

Barbara is a Senior Marketing/Advertising/MarCom executive with a broad base of brand building success working with leading advertising agencies and blue-chip companies, including Kraft, SC Johnson and DDB.  She has experience building brands, launching new products, defining approaches for development of integrated marketing communication programs, leading cross-disciplined teams, and capturing sustainable savings to fund brand growth. 

Prior to AMG Strategic Advisors, Barbara served as Director of Marketing Services at SC Johnson & Son, Inc. where she was responsible for key functions in support of business dynamics and brand communications, including Media, Consumer Promotion/Shopper Marketing, Marketing Research, Analytics, Consumer Relations and Consumer Relationship Management.

Barbara was also VP of Global Advertising and Marketing Training at Kraft Foods where she led and directed all phases of advertising, brand positioning, creative strategy, creative development and assessment. She also led the successful integration of $18B+ Nabisco acquisition into Kraft, harmonized their approach to advertising and ad agency optimization yielding $4MM+ in productivity

As a consultant, Barbara optimized management of advertising agency relationships including compensation for Kraft General Foods, Northfield, IL, Citibank, N.A., NY, Ameritech, Chicago, IL and while on the agency side, she served as VP, Management Rep at DDB assigned a broad range of client experience, products and services:  Anheuser-Busch, Inc., Campbell Soup Co., The Clorox Co., General Mills, Inc., Hasbro, McDonald’s Corp., Morton Intl., Ramada Inns, Inc.

While at Kraft, Barbara served on the ANA Board of Directors; Chair of Agency Relations Committee and was an Annual Conference Speaker.

She has extensive experience in the classroom as Adjunct professor Marketing, Advertising at Kellogg School of Management; IMC at Medill/Northwestern University; Global Marketing at U. Chicago Graham School; most recently Lecturer International Business & Markets Program at Kellogg School of Management.

Barbara currently serves on the Board of Directors, Communities in Schools, Chicago and on the Partners Council for the Civic Consulting Alliance.  Previously served on the Board of Trustees for Drake University, and the Board of Directors for the Advertising Educational Foundation and the Chicago Advertising Federation.
