Job Description
- Provide leadership which drives the integrated communication strategy (planning/execution) for the commercialization of all products within the Outdoor Product & Accessories portfolios.
- Lead product SBU assigned Integrated Communication team effort for new product launches; 2010 plan execution, 2011 launch plan proposal, and 2012 Prelim planning for same
- Assume a lead role in developing and implementing creative, cost-effective merchandising programs at targeted channel account(s). This will include, but is not limited to customized in-store in-run merchandising solutions, off-shelf /end-cap merchandising solutions, as well as pallet merchandising programs.
- Direct / manage efforts for packaging development as they apply to account specific activity. Ensure cohesive packaging/merchandising program approach to the POG development and execution for the account.
- Direct and manage efforts from concept through production and distribution for key marketing support materials such as, but not limited to; brochures, catalogs, sell sheets, direct mail, training videos, channel promotions, photography, emarketing, etc.
- Manage and direct supplier based activities as they relate to all aspects of marketing / brand communication efforts for the channel account(s).
- Assist in the planning and media strategy for ads (trade, consumer / traditional and on-line) in support of channel account(s) activities.
- Assist in the planning and strategy for public relation activities in support of commercialization activities.
- Develop and execute comprehensive annual internet site marketing support programs in support of business objectives. This will include content development and management and direction of site updates as planned, both for product exposure at the BDK site, as well as customer internet site, and any account specific site activities.
- Manage brand standard to ensure compliance and maintain consistency of all communications elements, across the marketing based activities for the channel account(s).
- Manage and expedite distribution of merchandising program materials, including account interface for translations, reviews, and approvals and further securing forecasts, developing and managing budgets and interfacing with distribution center and customer service
- Develop and nurture key relationships with marketing counterparts at the assigned channel account(s) (WALMART). Work extensively to leverage all account marketing activities and opportunities with the account to further the brand and channel sales goals and objectives.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Undergraduate college degree: Bachelor's in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field required.
- Post graduate business degree desirable.
- Specialized technical training, in the area of creative development and marketing production, a plus.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Four plus years in power tool industry sales / marketing preferred.
- Two plus years specific experience with top DIY or Mass Market account preferred.
- Familiarity with Product Category assignment a plus.
FINANCIAL:
- Maintain awareness of business measures - sales, gross margins, OI, etc.
- Initiate marketing action plans to achieve FAB
objectives for assigned channel account(s)
- Operate within expense budget as
specified
- Provide cost analysis / measure of any/all merchandising activities executed.
SKILL SET DESIRED:
- Technical aptitude: solid working knowledge of creative management process / creative direction and technical expertise in all aspects of production across media mix: packaging, merchandising, print production, internet, pr and communications, etc.
