Job Description : 

Responsible for leading the strategic and executional support of the Ameriprise Brand. Oversee the Brand Management team and support the execution of the brand strategy for the Corporate and Advisor channels across the Enterprise.

Responsibilities : 
  • Responsible for leading the strategic and executional support of the Ameriprise Brand. Support development of overall brand positioning and messaging, ensuring that it’s relevant and consistently articulated across channels. Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure that our brand is appropriately reflected across all channels. Drive the rebranding of key acquisitions.
  • Manage the team responsible for brand management, brand experience, key messaging, naming, intellectual property, photography, brand consulting and review, training, program development and project management for brand initiatives. Drive brand engagement throughout the organization, manage Brand Champion program and lead brand training sessions.
  • Manage guidelines for visual, messaging, video and advisor branding, ensuring a more cohesive and consistent brand experience for consumers, advisors and employees. Support advisor branding in offices, providing guidance on co-branding capabilities/options. Responsible for maintaining and evolving the visual identity system. Oversee the brand review (ad trax) process, ensuring that all materials are reviewed in a timely manner Provide strategic support to the Columbia Threadneedle Investments and RiverSource brands – helping ensure that their overall brand strategy ladders up to the Enterprise.
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with our brand agency partner.
  • Provides effective people leadership through effective coaching, feedback and sound performance management practices. Act as champion for the team and intervene on matters that create roadblocks to individual or organizational success. Sets department initiatives and aligns and sets individual performance goals.
Required Qualifications : 
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep understanding of all facets of Brand Management and Brand Strategy.
  • Proven people leadership skills.
  • Highly effective communication skills as well as writing/editorial skills across channels.
  • Ability to lead, influence, communicate and interact with people at all levels across the organization.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Creative and strategic in solving problems as well as the ability to be flexible as needs change and willing to do hands-on work.
  • Series 7 or ability to obtain within 90 days


Preferred Qualifications : 
  • Experience working in a Financial Services or highly regulated category.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization.
