Manager, B2B Division

The ANA's membership includes more than 1,000 companies with 15,000 brands that collectively spend or support more than $400 billion in marketing and advertising annually. The membership is comprised of more than 750 client-side marketers and 300 associate members, which include leading agencies, law firms, suppliers, consultants, and vendors. Further enriching the ecosystem is the work of the nonprofit ANA Educational Foundation (AEF), which has the mission of enhancing the understanding of advertising and marketing within the academic and marketing communities.

ANA is looking for a dynamic, experienced self-starter who understands marketing and advertising, enjoys change and challenge and seeks out learning what’s just ahead of the curve. We currently have a need for a Manager to serve as a key operational deliverer of the products and services that the B2B division will provide to its members. This position requires a highly flexible and organized work style approach and the ability to multitask with world-class communication skills keeping everyone on track.

The ANA’s B2B division is driven to delight, provide inspiration, educate and enable member connectivity to ANA marketers who work in ANA B2B companies or B2B divisions via products and services. We also intend to elevate B2B marketing overall. In 2018, we will embark on a “startup” mindset to achieve these goals. The opportunity is to be built on the reality that many of the ANA’s greatest companies are B2B organizations housing talent and world-class marketing that need to be mined, socialized and celebrated. We believe that leveraging these assets will help contribute to the transformation of the ANA’s reputation from an “advertising” trade association to a “marketing” association. The structure of the B2B division team is built to deliver an approved scope of services that cover the following areas. Each one of these is being rebuilt as new and fresh products and services to engage and delight ANA marketers who work in B2B companies and divisions.

  • Develop and build a database of 1,000 key ANA B2B marketers across companies
  • Quality and proactive internal integration with Marketing Communications, IT, Marketing Knowledge Center, School of Marketing, Membership, Sponsorship and Partner Programs, ACE, Masters Circle
  • Proactive integration with the external B2B industry resources and groups
  • Re-engineered chapter relationship and services plan to require reduced/minimal duties

Job Description

A. Committees

  • The B2B Committee is being reignited with a new mission and purpose. Specific responsibilities include supporting a minimum of 4 committee sessions during the year.
  • Pre-meeting, Manage meeting RSVPs
  • Help investigate opportunities to promote meetings beyond a specific committee, in conjunction with each meeting “owner”
  • Manage and/or coordinate with outside meeting hosts to ensure room set-up, equipment needs, and hospitability and perform site check when feasible
  • Liaise with committee speakers on speaker forms as well as meeting logistics (e.g. ensure presentations are uploaded and accessible)
  • During meeting
  • Manage technical execution of event agenda
  • Assist with technical issues
  • Post meeting, Provide report with final attendee list
  • Record final meeting attendance
  • Ensure meeting agendas and notes are properly uploaded to website Issue survey to attendees on webinar and in-person experience Ongoing maintenance Keep website up-to-date (posting committee-related information including agendas, meeting notes, revised committee descriptions, meeting locations, etc.)
  • Keep committee calendar current on website Support B2B team leadership on committee metrics including committee membership and meeting attendance

B. Conferences

  • Masters of B2B Marketing, Support and own elements of programming, execution, and promotion of the Masters of B2B marketing
  • Member Only Conferences, Assist with the planning and implementation of 4 Member Only Conferences

C. Webinars

  • Responsible for programming 12 B2B webinars

D. B2 Awards

  • Play an integral role in the programming, execution, and management of the ANA’s B2 awards. This will be an extensive commitment for the 6 months leading up to the conference, covering over 500+ entries

E. Chapter Management

  • Provide operational support and “concierge-level service” to BMA chapter leaders, acting as their day-to-day contact for systems questions, member inquiries, etc. Support quarterly calls and annual Chapter Day
  • A consistent willingness to go above and beyond the minimum required to deliver world-class service and products for our members
  • Minimum 3 year’s experience in an account management role – agency experience a plus
  • Business-to-business experience a plus
  • Strong business writing, communication, and above-average interpersonal skills
  • Must be extremely organized, detailed, accurate and proactive
  • Highly skilled in building and managing project schedules and timelines
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • HTML knowledge a plus
  • Familiarity with database management systems is a plus
  • Responsive to internal needs in a timely fashion
  • Proactive self-starter who can work as part of a team primarily and independently when needed
  • Travel required
