Internal Communications Manager

Job Description:

Deloitte is looking for an internal communications professional with strong writing skills to join our in-house agency. In this role, you’ll develop compelling copy for internal communications campaigns that engage Deloitte’s professionals on key topics such as firm strategy, news, and events; talent initiatives; and other relevant topics.

Work you’ll do
  • Participate in messaging and strategy sessions with strategic communication planners and subject matter experts, providing input on creative assets for internal communication plans
  • Translate creative briefs into understandable and compelling assets that enhance communication, persuade readers, and distinguish the Deloitte brand; factor in internal stakeholder feedback, legal guidelines, and other requirements
  • Understand and translate Deloitte brand and style guidelines into a clear, confident, and human voice
  • Collaborate with communications senior managers to conceptualize, write, and edit campaign assets including articles, web copy, emails, invitations, scripts, social media, and other collateral
  • Team with internal clients to support strategic business priorities and resulting communication campaigns
  • Collaborate with campaign managers, subject matter experts, designers, and digital producers to develop innovative assets on time and on budget
  • Coach and mentor other team members, overseeing the work of others as required

Qualifications

 

Required:

 

 

 

  • 10+ years of writing/editing/proofreading experience in corporate communications, journalism, publishing, public relations, marketing or related field. Writing sample required.

 

 

  • Comfortable with digital and social communications platforms.

 

 

  • Proven ability to interact and communicate across variety of stakeholder groups and present complex information in easily understandable format tailored to each audience.

 

 

  • Team-oriented approach with ability to take initiative, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet client expectations and deadlines across multiple projects.

 

 

  • Able to independently manage workload, knowing when to escalate challenges appropriately.

 

 

  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization with a virtual team; experience in large, corporate setting, and/or professional services firm, a plus.

 

 

  • Strong executive presence, professional client service manner, and ability to interact with all levels of management essential.

 

 

  • Collaborative working style to build relationships with multiple business communication, marketing, and technology teams.

 

 

  • Excellent editing and/or copy editing and proofreading skills; knowledge of editorial style.

 

 

  • Conceptual, creative thinker with a passion for writing, story-telling, and the willingness to learn from others.

 

 

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

 

 

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or related field.

 

 

  • Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. HTML skills a plus.
