Associate Brand Manager

Musco Family Olive Co., a privately held family business based in Tracy, California, with facilities across the state, has a newly created career opportunity in its Tracy, California headquarters location-- a convenient 25 miles from Pleasanton/Dublin.  Rooted in expertise from the olive groves of Italy and built over many generations of active family involvement, Musco Family Olive Co. is a leading supplier of table olives in America.  The company employs over 250 employees and their Pearls and Early California brands are available at supermarkets, club stores, and mass merchandisers nationwide.  Musco is one of the largest olive importers in the world and contracts for nearly 50% of the California table olive crop.

Reporting to the Director of Brand and Product Management, the Associate Brand Manager role provides a variety of project management, tactical support and analytical functions to generate &/or utilize consumer insights and intelligence to inform and optimize strategy, consumer activation and execution to enable profitable brand growth. The ABM will have strong interaction with the creative agencies, sales, R&D and finance. They will always have eyes on the digital land scape and retail landscape to ensure we remain one step ahead and are not afraid to get your hands dirty and lean into what will grow the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive digital strategy alongside Brand Manager (50% of time): Partner with agencies to build strategy, plan programs, create content, execute and refine strategies/plans based on pre/post event analysis.

–         Manage content development and input for website and social channels

–         Monitor & analyze activity on social media channels and provide direction to agencies

–         Analyze website traffic performance using Google Analytics and Destini platform

–         Coordinate website updates with programmer and creative team

  • Coordinate Tactical National & Shopper Marketing Program (30% of time):  Work with the Brand Manager to partner with retailers, the sales organization, and other internal cross-functional teams to lead integrated customer marketing plans that fuel annual business plans.

–         Monitor coupon redemptions, measure and analyze to drive efficiencies

–         Drive FSI execution: getting contract, ensuring artwork gets to printer, monitoring redemptions

–         Assist with the development and execution of major consumer promotions and trade programs

–         Monitor deduction log to ensure that rates are within guidelines

–         Drive execution of couponing programs: barcode set-up, asset delivery, QA

  • Lead Product Management life cycle for extensions (20% of time):  Work with Brand Director and internal team to vet out new ideas, lead product life cycle, and monitor execution to market.

–         Lead active product project tracking meeting

–         Lead in the development of new configurations for existing products and quality improvements

–         Monitor commercialization process to ensure that product launches meet deadlines

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing or related field, i.e., Communications; MBA a Plus
  • 2-4 years of CPG Digital Marketing background, including experience with analyzing data
  • Demonstrated experience working with digital marketing vendors and execution of consumer promotional programs
  • Highly motivated self-starter and committed team player with strong verbal and written communications, project management and analytical skills, and demonstrated solid management and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel up to 5% of the time.
