Assistant Marketing Manager
Implement advanced analysis and reporting for high volume, frequent direct-to-consumer email and mail campaigns with the goal of increasing customer acquisition and retention. Utilize advanced segmentation, testing, analytics, and direct marketing best practices to optimize marketing campaigns for key performance metrics. Leverage sophisticated database marketing techniques to execute and analyze consumer communications.
Work closely with management team to develop, execute, and analyze cruise promotional direct mail and email campaigns that drive leads and bookings to support corporate cruise revenue objectives.
Publish and maintain direct mail and email calendars including dates for creative briefs, list pulls, creative approval, scheduled mail dates, actual mail dates, and other related initiatives.
Develop creative briefs for planned strategic and tactical integrated direct marketing and email marketing campaigns. Ensure creative briefs are delivered on time, within budget, and according to business objectives and campaign requirements.
Lead creative development and list segmentation. Produce creative targeted to specific customer segments. Utilize direct marketing best practices in order to maximize delivery of campaigns.
Act as key contact for all vendors involved in email and direct mail execution. Work with agency to coordinate direct marketing schedule and monitor volume of direct mail and email. Approve test emails prior to blast and follow up on any technical issues.
Provide accurate/timely direct marketing reports and effectively communicate results to management. Use multiple data sources to develop and execute detailed analyses weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
Perform detailed conversion analysis by channel and customer segment. Develop benchmarks and report on variances weekly, monthly, and quarterly and identify top performing segments
Recommend and develop segmentation strategies using response data. Complete deep-dive analyses on consumer segments and campaign performance to identify most profitable customer sources.
Perform other job related functions as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
5-years’experiencein consumer marketing with a strong emphasis on analytics. Marketing statistics, travel industry and/or cruise line experience preferred.
Solid knowledge of direct marketing and customer relationship management (CRM) strategy.
Working knowledge of direct mail and email production processes including list and creative development. Advanced Excel skills to analyze and report campaign results. Analytical skills sufficient to seek and collect information, identify trends, pull lists, and interpret data results accurately. Written, verbal, and oral communications skills to present findings, prepare clear reports for multiple users, and work with third party vendors, whenever necessary. Strong decision making skills to effectively and efficiently execute campaigns. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environment to accomplish goals, gather information, and complete projects. Ability to find creative solutions in the midst of complex technical constraints. Excellent project management and organizational skills to handle various projects simultaneously. Ability to work well under pressure while meeting deadlines and budget constraints. Ability to maintain current knowledge of company products and itineraries and stay abreast of industry developments affecting execution of responsibilities.
