  • When targeting a consumer, marketers should ask: How does my brand and business matter to people? Why would I care? Why would I share?
  • The iPhone has created over one billion content creators. Ninety percent of ordinary people produce bad content, but 10 percent do it better than brands. They are the influencers.
  • Influencer partnerships is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world today, and marketers are still trying to figure out how to get the most out of them. If brands can get interest from influencers, very compelling content can be created.
  • Compelling, interesting, engaging content doesn’t get blocked by ad blockers. We don’t have to do it in the old way and the old format.
  • Eighty-six percent of people believe it’s important that companies stand for something other than profitability.
  • Purpose is at the intersection of these two questions: What is a genuine and credible role for the company or brand? What are the issues that people really care about?
  • With advancing technology, brands can now do for free what cost $30 billion a decade ago.
  • Recruiting talent is about creating open platforms that empower brilliant people to create content for brands, and that’s the biggest challenge for the traditional marketing model.
