At a hearing held today on children and media violence, ANA filed a policy statement with the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee expressing our deep concern about any attempt by Congress to regulate violent content and restrict it in a manner similar to indecency. Our statement specifically focuses on the major policy defects and unconstitutionality of this approach.
We also included comments (and an accompanying appendix) we filed in 2004 when the Federal Communications Commission was considering media violence.
