There's no doubt that we live in disruptive times. The adoption rate of new technology is increasing at the speed of light, and standing out from the competition becomes more difficult every day. Staying on top of every trend and then maximizing each potential opportunity is a race. As traditional media merges into a new landscape where the lines blur and measurement is more art than science, Marketers are still charged with leading their organizations into areas that are still evolving. And there's little room for a misstep.

With all this as pretext, why would a marketer consider adding trade/barter into the uncertainty of their daily life? Marketers are often the beneficiary of a trade transaction, yet we know from our own experience that there's skepticism about integrating a corporate trade program into marketing plans. Why? Primarily because the benefits aren't clear and there's been a lack of transparency about how the model works. However, one thing is certain, whether you're using barter today or are thinking about it for tomorrow, it has "arrived."
