Elizabeth (Beth) H. Baran is VP and associate general counsel for Dick’s Sporting Goods. She provides general legal counsel for Dick’s and oversees the corporate compliance and government affairs functions. With respect to Dick’s marketing and digital innovation, Ms. Baran gives advice and negotiates contracts related to brand strategy, spokespersons, pricing, customer research, digital, social and traditional media, agency management, sponsorships, events, entertainment, endorsements, contests/sweepstakes, product claim substantiation and corporate communications. She also supports the company’s corporate social responsibility work. Elizabeth serves as the executive director and secretary of The Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation, whose mission is to support programs that inspire and enable sports participation, most recently including its innovative www.SportsMatter.org program. She began her career as a corporate/securities lawyer before joining Dick’s in 2010. She enjoys being in-house with an exciting brand, and loves the pace, promise and challenges of retail. Beth lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and three young children.
