Katie Buford, Director of Barbie Global Marketing, has been on the Barbie brand for 6 years, playing a key role on the product side of the brand’s evolution over the past several years. She currently leads a team that oversees product marketing for Barbie’s core product segments and has had the opportunity to work on iconic items such as the Barbie Dreamhouse and Barbie’s many careers, in addition to the recent diversity and inclusion work on the Fashionistas doll line. Prior to joining Mattel, Katie worked in Marketing at Munchkin, a baby product company, and led the Events program at the Santa Barbara Zoo. She has her B.A. in Sociology from UC Berkeley and her M.B.A. from UC Irvine.
