Aparna M. Dave is Vice President and Senior Counsel in the Houston office of Wells Fargo Bank, which she joined in 2006. She supports the company’s Enterprise Marketing, Social Media and Corporate Communications groups, which include brand management, sponsorships, digital and emerging media, and marketing strategies and promotions. She counsels clients on a wide range of marketing and advertising law matters such as trademarks, copyrights, sweepstakes and contests, endorsements, publicity rights, false advertising, deceptive practices, and other federal and state consumer protection laws and helps develop policies and procedures in these areas. Through her strategic guidance and creative solutions to novel legal issues in the new media space, she has helped her clients establish and maintain a strong presence on numerous blogs, online communities and major social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Instagram and Pinterest.
Aparna conducts ongoing client training on social media, intellectual property and marketing law matters. She is recognized by her colleagues as a leading attorney on social media issues and is regularly asked to speak on a variety of subjects at the intersection of emerging media and the law.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Aparna was a civil defense litigator for McGlinchey Stafford in Houston. She is a 2002 graduate of South Texas College of Law in Houston.
She is on the Steering Committee for the State Bar of Texas Minority Counsel Program and an active member of the South Asian Bar Association of Houston and the International Trademark Association’s In-House Practitioner’s Committee.
