Matthew Fitzpatrick is VP and associate general counsel for The Procter & Gamble Co., where he’s responsible for the Global One Health business and is accountable to the business president for legal advertising strategy, product registration and regulation, intellectual property (patent and trademarks), and associated dispute resolution.
Previously at Procter & Gamble, Mr. Fitzpatrick had overall legal responsibility for the fabric and home care sector, including IP, and was the European leader for the brand’s legal organization. Additionally, Mr. Fitzpatrick was responsible for the intellectual property department and operations throughout Asia and was the associate general counsel for the North American baby care business. He started at the company as the intellectual property counsel focusing on patent practice in the feminine care and baby care businesses.
Prior to joining Procter & Gamble, Mr. Fitzpatrick was a nuclear safety analysis and licensing engineer at the Clavert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant.
Mr. Fitzpatrick received a B.S. in nuclear engineering from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.
