James Harris is responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of UPS’s U.S. advertising (TV, radio, print, internet, and social media) and sponsorship matters. Sponsorships he has been involved in include the NBA, NHL, and MLB, and associated team, arena, and stadium sponsorships. Other sponsorships include NASCAR, NHRA, European Golf Tour, and Live Nation, as well as endorsement deals with NASCAR drivers and pro golfers. He is also responsible for plant engineering, automotive, and real estate. His past responsibilities have included managing the legal aspects of UPS’s worldwide patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios, and managing technology matters. He is also a USPTO registered patent attorney. Mr. Harris received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Tennessee State University, an M.B.A. from Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business, and a law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
