Reid Horwitz is currently an Assistant Litigation Deputy with the Enforcement Office of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Prior to joining the CFPB, Mr. Horwitz spent over 15 years with the Federal Trade Commission. During that time, he worked as a staff attorney in the Division of Advertising Practices and Division of Privacy and Identity Protection. He also served as an Assistant to the Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection and as an Attorney Advisor to the Chairman.
In addition, Mr. Horwitz worked as a staff attorney in the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, and later served in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice as the Assistant Chief for the Merger Task Force. Mr. Horwitz also worked in private practice, counseling clients in the areas of antitrust and consumer protection.
Mr. Horwitz has had an inside view of the advertising industry from his father, who spent over four decades running his own advertising agency in Cincinnati, Ohio.
