As chief marketing officer, Denise Karkos is responsible for the overall management of TD Ameritrade’s marketing and advertising to the long-term investor, trader and adviser segments. In this role, Ms. Karkos leads segment strategy, brand and advertising, social media and content marketing, marketing analytics, marketing technology and operations, and corporate communications. She serves as a member of the company's senior operating committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization. Denise has also served as managing director of brand and advertising and managing director of retail segment strategy within the firm. Previously, Ms. Karkos spent four years with TD Bank as the senior vice president of marketing planning, managing retail marketing strategy and helping grow the business organically and through acquisitions. She was elected as a new member of the Ad Council's board of directors in 2016. Throughout her career, Ms. Karkos has received multiple marketing honors, including an Adweek Brand Genius and a Clio, as well as numerous other awards. Her more recent accolades include an Advertising Women of New York Changing the Game award in the “Paradigm Shift” category in 2015 and a 2016 Cojones award. Denise received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Notre Dame.
