Simon Krauss serves as Deputy General Counsel for Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (“CableLabs”), the global research and development consortium for the cable industry, and as Vice President, General Counsel for NetworkFX, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CableLabs, which provides security trust management, testing, and other technical services. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Simon is responsible for providing domestic and international legal guidance to CableLabs’ broadband-related initiatives particularly in the areas of security, privacy, intellectual property, and antitrust. Simon also provides legal guidance on contracts, licensing, employment law, corporate law, and tax issues.
Simon received his law degree from the University of Denver where he simultaneously earned a Master of Arts in International Studies. He has worked extensively in private practice and as in-house counsel, providing technology companies a wide range of domestic and international legal services. Prior to his legal career, Simon worked as an archaeologist, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Northwestern University.
