Robert (Rob) LaPlaca practices in promotion law and commercial litigation. Mr. LaPlaca leads Verrill Dana’s promotion law practice, which includes sweepstakes, skill contests, instant win games, internet and mobile marketing promotions, trade promotions and consumer offers. Robert counsels well-known brands, as well as advertising and marketing companies, from concept development through implementation to fulfillment. His practice also includes reviewing and drafting agency contracts, publicity agreements and various advertising agreements. Mr. LaPlaca also reviews advertisements for television, radio, online and print marketing. Throughout his career, Rob has worked on many popular marketing promotions, including those on television shows, movies, social media sites and live sporting events. He regularly speaks on promotion law topics at conferences and webinars; his articles have appeared in newspapers and trade journals; he has been quoted in leading publications; and he maintains the blog, www.youmightbeawinner.com. Rob also counsels clients on cause-related marketing, including commercial co-ventures and charitable promotions. He works with clients on program concept, contract drafting and review, state registration and advertising. Mr. LaPlaca has worked on many national and worldwide commercial co-ventures, including programs involving national retail sales, online sales, charitable events and movie releases.
