Edward (Ed) J. Laukes is group vice president of marketing for Toyota Motor North America. He is responsible for all Toyota division market planning, advertising, merchandising, sales promotion, incentives, internet, NASCAR and motorsports. Prior to his current position, Mr. Laukes was vice president of integrated marketing operations. In that role, he was responsible for media relationships, vehicle incentive strategy and motorsports relationships. His team also managed engagement marketing, auto shows and other consumer events throughout the United States. Additionally, Edward serves as a member of the TRD, U.S.A. (Toyota Racing Development) board of directors. Since joining Toyota in 1989, Mr. Laukes has held various positions in both the Lexus and Toyota divisions. He first served as district service and parts manager for the Lexus Central Area and held a variety of additional management positions in the field. Subsequently, he held the positions of sales and production planning manager and sales administration manager at TMS headquarters in Torrance, California. Prior to joining Lexus, Mr. Laukes worked with Buick and American Honda. Ed earned a bachelor’s degree from DePaul University in Chicago.
