In 2008, Sandra Leib became general counsel of DDB Chicago, an internationally-recognized advertising agency that produces television commercials and develops interactive and social media campaigns for famous brands such as Jeep, Capital One, State Farm, Wrigley and Mars. Ms. Leib counsels her clients and negotiates agreements on a wide range of advertising and intellectual property issues, including unfair competition, rights of publicity and privacy, copyright, trademark, promotions, privacy and SAG/AFTRA union matters. She specializes in issues relating to the production of advertising, including clearance of art, music and photography, motion picture production, creation and licensing of music, and overscale talent agreements. Sandra also drafts and negotiates music rights agreements on behalf of DDB’s clients in connection with their advertising, digital and promotional campaigns. Sandra was vice president, general counsel of Element 79 Partners (2002-08) and vice president, associate general counsel for True North Communications, Inc. (1997-02), where she advised on a broad range of intellectual property, promotions, social media and privacy matters. She is a frequent speaker on legal issues relating to advertising, talent, music and other rights clearance matters. Sandra volunteers pro bono legal services to the Lawyers for the Creative Arts and the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park.
