George Leon is the Executive Vice President, Worldwide Consumer Marketing for the Columbia TriStar Consumer Marketing Group. He currently heads the global promotions, product placement and consumer products divisions for Sony Pictures Entertainment. Mr. Leon joined SPE in April 2000 as Senior Vice President, Global Promotions and Product Placement and was promoted to Executive Vice President at the end of 2002. In 2004 he took over responsibility for the licensing and merchandising division. Prior to joining SPE, Leon was Vice President of Promotions for Fox Family Worldwide/Saban Entertainment, where he established the company’s first-ever consumer promotions division and developed highly successful campaigns for Fox Family/Fox Kids programming such as “Power Rangers”, “NASCAR Racers,” “Mystic Knights” and ‘The New Addams Family.” Before his stint at Fox Family Worldwide, Leon was director of sales and marketing at Camelot Licensing, where he planned and executed the licensing and merchandising programs for motion pictures such as Morgan Creek’s Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls.
