Caesar Lopez serves as legal counsel for Major League Soccer (MLS) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM), where he advises on a wide array of commercial and legal matters that include drafting and negotiating local/national sponsorships and broadcast, stadium and licensing agreements for MLS and SUM properties. In addition, Mr. Lopez is responsible for managing the global intellectual property portfolio for MLS, including the registration, maintenance and enforcement of its copyrights and trademarks. Prior to joining MLS, Caesar was in-house counsel at Beiersdorf, a global skin care company that owns world-renowned brands such as Nivea, Nivea Men, Eucerin and Aquaphor. He earned his Juris Doctor from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, where he was one of the founding members of the Pace Intellectual Property Sports and Entertainment Law Forum and currently serves as a member of the Pace Law School alumni board. Caesar attended the University of Connecticut, where he was a member of the three-time Big East champion men’s soccer team.
