As senior manager, social media operations for Hilton based in Dallas, Megan McDonald is responsible for social media governance across 14 brands and more than 5,300 hotels across the world. Ms. McDonald works with legal and PR to provide social media guidelines, best practices and education to Hilton’s internal social media stakeholders to ensure a cohesive social strategy is executed across the company. In this role, she has led workshops for and presented to Hilton marketing leaders in the Americas, Middle East and Europe. Before joining Hilton’s corporate social media team in 2015, Megan spent seven years working in Hilton’s hotels in multiple operations, sales and marketing roles. Most notably, Ms. McDonald was the social media manager at two of Hilton’s premier properties, Waldorf Astoria New York and Boca Raton Resort and Club. Megan holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing and a Bachelor of Science in entrepreneurship from High Point University in North Carolina, as well as a Master of Arts in tourism administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
