As Uber’s first-ever CMO, Rebecca Messina is focused on building a world-class marketing organization and helping the company define a strong brand in the hearts and minds of the consumers, drivers, and communities it serves.
Prior to joining Uber, she was the global CMO at Beam Suntory, responsible for global brand strategy development and communications, product innovation, research and development, and consumer insights for the company’s world-class portfolio of brands, including Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Sauza Tequila, and Courvoisier Cognac.
Ms. Messina also spent 22 years at The Coca-Cola Co, most notably as VP of global marketing capability and integration. During her time in that role, she led the strategic development of the global marketing agenda to continue growth in a highly competitive and changing landscape. In 2014, she assumed the role of SVP, marketing and innovation, for ventures and emerging brands, an internal incubator at Coca-Cola.
Ms. Messina holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and speaks English, Spanish, French, and Italian. She is currently on the global board of the Mobile Marketing Association and the Ad Council.
