Sharifah Niles-Lane is an award-winning marketing and communications leader and the senior vice president, head of enterprise social media and content strategy at Citizens Financial Group, one of the largest banks in the country. She has more than 18 years of social media, digital, and content marketing experience, and a proven track record of success for the organization. In her current role, Ms. Niles-Lane leads enterprise-wide digital content and social media strategy, champions innovative communications tactics, and drives effective execution to elevate and protect the brand’s reputation.
Before joining Citizens, Ms. Niles-Lane led digital marketing and social media strategy at Eastern Bank, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and John Hancock. She has been recognized with many industry awards for her outstanding work and demonstrated expertise. Over the years, she has been instrumental in leading strategies and campaigns for many brands and partnerships, such as Showtime, Universal Music — Decca, The Oprah Winfrey Show’s “No Phone Zone” campaign, the Boston Marathon, and Curious George.
Ms. Niles-Lane graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in communications from Newbury College. She has a passion for mentorship and community service and currently serves on the board of directors for YW Boston.
