Ankan Patel provides legal support for various groups within MasterCard, including global sponsorships, consumer, bank, merchant, product, and digital marketing. His responsibilities include drafting and negotiating sports and entertainment sponsorship agreements, celebrity and athlete brand ambassador agreements, and a wide variety of marketing, advertising, joint promotion, and strategic partnership agreements. Before joining MasterCard in 2012, Mr. Patel served as corporate counsel for Fila, a sports apparel and footwear company, where he was responsible for negotiating and drafting sponsorship, endorsement, branded entertainment, and promotion agreements with international athletes and companies. Prior to Fila, he was an associate in the New York office of Kaye Scholer LLP, focusing on IP, internal investigations, and product liability matters. Mr. Patel received his B.A. in psychology from George Washington University and his J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School.
