As chief operating officer, Simon Perkins guides and supports Orvis’s brand strategy teams, including leading a recent company rebrand. Simon joined Orvis in 2012 and has held positions including ecommerce merchant for fly fishing and wingshooting, senior manager of Orvis Adventures, director of brand marketing and vp of creative and brand marketing. Fly fishing, bird hunting, dogs, and family have inspired Simon’s passion for the outdoors since, infancy. Prior to joining the family business, Simon spent 10 years in front of Orvis’ core customer working as a fly-fishing and wingshooting guide in Montana. In addition to time in the field and on the river, Simon loves playing and coaching soccer and is passionate about filmmaking. His films have been shown at film festivals including Mountainfilm, Banff and the Fly-Fishing Film Tour. Simon serves on the Board of Trout Unlimited Headwaters and previously served on the Board of the National Wildlife Refuge Association. He currently lives in Vermont and spends much of his time outside the office following his wife, two children and four dogs on various adventures through the woods.
