Søren Pietzcker is in charge of the intellectual property and advertising law department at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Hamburg, Germany. He writes and lectures on advertising law, unfair competition law and ambush marketing, as well as on intellectual property issues such as trademark law. Recent presentations include industry events in Hamburg, Budapest, Washington and Chicago. Mr. Pietzcker is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the International Trademark Association, the International Bar Association, the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance and the Argentinean-German Lawyers Association. He focuses on advising clients in the manufacturing and service industries, including advertising agencies, on all aspects of advertising law, unfair competition, trademark law and intellectual property protection. This includes the responsibility for the application, opposition, maintenance and defense of national trademarks, European Union marks and international registrations, as well as trademark infringement litigation, especially by way of preliminary injunctions. Mr. Pietzcker also clears ad campaigns and sweepstakes rules for international agencies, and does transactional work in intellectual property matters. After working three years in a boutique firm specializing in advertising and trademark law, he joined Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in 1999 and became a partner in 2002.
