Ryan Riess is currently director of social strategy and earned media at The Hershey Company, where he is working to develop and enhance Hershey’s social, earned and in-house creative capabilities. Previously, Mr. Riess served as senior brand manager on the company’s largest and most profitable brand, Reese’s. During his tenure on Reese’s, he played an integral role in the brand’s growth. Since joining the team in October 2015, Ryan’s contributions lead to over $150 million of growth for the brand in less than 24 months. With successful campaigns including #AllTreesAreBeautiful, #Cupfusion and #Cupspiracy, Mr. Riess and the Reese’s team were able to take the brand to new heights with an innovative and agile marketing model that sought to harness the over-the-top love from Reese’s loyal and avid fan base. During his nine years at Hershey, Ryan has worked on a variety of other key initiatives, including the development of Reese’s global equity, the launch of Hershey’s entrance into the spreads category and the development of shopper marketing capabilities within the convenience class of trade. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College and both a Master of Education and Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
