Angie Romero is the global Latin content lead at Amazon Music, based in New York. She forms part of the international leadership team overseeing Latin music storytelling via video and audio editorial content. While at Amazon Music, Ms. Romero has executive-produced original video and audio series focused on celebrating the full breadth of the Latino community. These include the live Twitch shows Desde Abajo with Jimmy Humilde and La Semanal Live, the long-form documentaries Hip-Hop X Siempre and La Cuna del Dembow (also streaming on Prime Video), the Clio-winning Genero 101, the Webby-honored En La Sala podcast, and cinematic short films such as La Cultura That Connects Us, narrated by Emmy-winning actor Jharrel Jerome, and GEN MEX: Un Homenaje, starring Mexican superstar Christian Nodal.

Ms. Romero came to Amazon with nearly 20 years of experience in lifestyle, music, and entertainment focusing on Latin audiences. Prior to Amazon, she was a senior editor at Spotify, where she curated playlists across a wide range of Latin genres, working to spotlight underrepresented artists. She was a former editor at Latina magazine, Variety Latino, Univision, and VIBE. She has also contributed to Rolling Stone, Billboard, Variety, The Washington Post, NBC News, Glamour, and Complex, among other outlets. Ms. Romero has interviewed several of today’s biggest entertainment stars, from Lin-Manuel Miranda to Beyoncé.

Ms. Romero has a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Colorado — Boulder.
