James Russo is senior vice president of client strategy and development for WarnerMedia Ad Sales, overseeing business planning, account development and thought leadership initiatives that help to build client-specific strategies fueled by advanced insights and analytics. Mr. Russo and his team partner closely with the company’s sales teams portfolio-wide, enabling agencies and marketers to develop smarter and more efficient decisions driven by the company’s next-generation portfolio capabilities. Based in New York, he reports to Joe Hogan, executive vice president of ad sales and client partnerships for WarnerMedia. James is one of today’s leading experts on consumer attitudes and behavior, prominently and frequently featured in the media and as a presenter at influential industry events worldwide. He joined Turner (now part of WarnerMedia) from Nielsen, where he spent 13 years of his career. As senior vice president of global consumer insights at Nielsen, Mr. Russo was charged with integrating the company’s efforts to leverage and customize its broad array of “watch-and-buy” insights, as well as analytics, to enhance growth strategies for the company’s global clients. James earned his master’s degree in executive management and marketing, as well as his bachelor’s degree, from St. John’s University in Queens, New York.
