For the past 10 years, Candace Sady has provided in-house business counsel with a focus on advertising claims and support for human and pet food, cosmetics and over-the-counter drugs. As chief marketing counsel for Hill’s Pet Nutrition, she provides guidance on marketing initiatives and advertising claims on packaging and in all media, including in relation to litigation and other legal challenges worldwide. In her prior role as global oral care counsel, she counseled the oral care and digital marketing teams, with a particular focus on product launches, digital marketing and legal challenges. Before joining Colgate, Candace was senior counsel, marketing and regulatory/food law at Mondelez International (formerly Kraft). There, she gained valuable experience ensuring marketing and regulatory compliance in addition to providing legal support for brands such as Oreo, Planters, Halls, Dentyne and Sour Patch Kids, including in relation to acquisitions and divestitures. Before going in-house, she was a litigation associate with Proskauer Rose, where she worked on complex commercial litigations, including false advertising claims in court and before the National Advertising Division, as well as providing claim support guidance. Candace holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology and English from Oberlin College and received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School.
