Debra Sandler leads Mars Chocolate North America’s marketing function and cross-functional business management teams for M&Ms, Filled Bar (Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, and 3 Musketeers), Dove, and seasonal business. She oversees all brand innovation, leads the company’s health and wellness platform, and drives consumer insights and communications, both internal and external. She is also accountable for two exciting startup businesses: Dove Chocolate Discoveries and My M&Ms. Ms. Sandler joined Mars Chocolate in 2009 as chief consumer officer.
Previously, Ms. Sandler was the worldwide president of McNeil Nutritionals, a division of Johnson & Johnson (J&J). She joined J&J in 1999 as vice president of marketing to lead the launch of Splenda no-calorie sweetener. As a founding leader, she built the Nutritionals Division into a profitable business unit within the consumer group of J&J. Ms. Sandler was also the co-chair for the J&J Women’s Leadership Initiative, representing the views and needs of women across the globe within J&J.
Ms. Sandler started her career at Pepsi-Cola. She holds an undergraduate degree in international business from Hofstra University, an M.B.A. from New York University, Stern School of Business, and an honorary Ph.D. from Long Island University.
