Michael Schiffer is Associate Legal Director, Marketing at Twitter. Mr. Schiffer primarily advises Twitter's in-house creative studio and its business-to-business, events, growth and product marketing teams, as well as providing legal guidance regarding consumer-targeted promotions and social media marketing content. Michael reviews all variants of vendor agreements, including agency-client, production, talent and sponsorship agreements, as well as insertion orders and media buying arrangements. He reviews Twitter’s B2B plans, communications, blogs and other marketing campaigns. Mr. Schiffer also advises and presents to his clients on intellectual property clearance obligations and risk, substantiation requirements and various other promotional concerns. Prior to Twitter, Michael spent 10 years at Frankfurt Kurnit PC, as counsel in their advertising and media group. At Frankfurt Kurnit, Mr. Schiffer represented both agencies and brands in every manner of advertising deal, including product placements, merchandizing deals, music licenses and complex talent deals. Michael was also previously a litigator at Goodwin Procter in NYC. Mr. Schiffer has been named a "Super Lawyer" in First Amendment/media/ad law and has presented on social media, music licensing, talent clearance and general advertising issues. Michael received his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School and Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University.
