Lauren Tang is director and associate general counsel at Meta, where she leads the team supporting advertising and marketing across the Meta family of apps and services. Ms. Tang is responsible for advising the business on global issues related to Meta’s advertising, marketing and promotions, including data use, privacy and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Meta, Lauren was a partner at a national law firm focusing on advertising, marketing, media, consumer protection and regulatory issues. She counseled clients on compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements relating to advertising, marketing practices, privacy and other regulatory issues affecting consumer marketing and sales. Ms. Tang also represented clients before the Federal Trade Commission and in single or multistate enforcement actions by state attorneys general. Lauren began her legal career as a bankruptcy attorney after serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Maureen A. Tighe of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. She has advised debtors and creditors on bankruptcy-related matters, including corporate reorganization, liquidation and commercial litigation.
