Mirella Amalia Vitale is the Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communication and Public Affairs for the ROCKWOOL Group.
The ROCKWOOL Group is the world’s leading manufacturer of stone wool solutions offering a range of high-performing, sustainable insulation products for the construction industry and specialist solutions for horticultural, marine, and offshore sectors.

Mirella joined ROCKWOOL in the Group Management position in February 2016 and leads a division which includes Corporate Communication, Product Management, Commercial Excellence, Public Affairs, Marketing & Branding, Digital Sales & Marketing and Sustainability across all the five ROCKWOOL brands. The consolidation of all these departments under single responsibility reflects the evolving role of the CMO in today´s business environment.

In 2021 Mirella received the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (OMRI) for her career as a leader in international business.

Since her appointment ROCKWOOL has become one of the strongest Danish brands, ranking third by Brand Finance in 2021 and 2022. They also achieved a 30% improvement in the OMX Sustainability Index and in 2018 the group was the highest scoring company in S&P Global´s Sustainable Development Goal evaluation tool. Mirella’s focus on sustainable cities and buildings is consolidated through partnerships with C40 cities, the Climate Group and the United Nations action platform and SDG Network, where she is an active member. In 2018 Mirella was named one of the Internationalists of the year, a recognition for influential marketers issued by the US magazine “The Internationalist”.

Before joining the ROCKWOOL Group, Mirella spent 15 years in the wind industry working for the market leader Vestas Wind Systems A/S in various leadership positions in Taranto, Rome, Madrid, Aarhus, and Copenhagen. In 2012 she was appointed Global Vice President for Marketing. Mirella was part of a core central business development team for emerging renewable energy markets such as Turkey, Middle East, and Latin America. Mirella participated in the launch of Wind for Prosperity, an initiative to bring affordable, renewable energy to remote underserved areas with no access to electricity. Prior to joining Vestas, Mirella Amalia Vitale worked with Shell Offshore Inc. for nine years, based in Taranto, Italy, on the construction projects of the tension leg platforms, Auger, Mars, Ram Powell, and Ursa for the Gulf of Mexico.
